Master’s Degree in Business Engineering

The Master’s degree in Project and Innovation Management (MPI) at ESMAS is a Level 7 qualification registered with the RNCP. This two-year programme trains managers capable of transforming creative ideas into tangible and profitable outcomes, with a strong focus on managing uncertainty and leading change.

This programme is perfectly suited to project and digital transformation managers, who seek creative, passionate, curious, and motivated collaborators.

The ESMAS Master MPI prepares students to be fully operational from their first professional experience. Courses, conferences, masterclasses, and business games are delivered by professionals who are experts in their fields.

Programme objectives

The Master’s degree in Project and Innovation Management (MPI) at ESMAS is a State-recognised Level 7 qualification designed to achieve the following learning outcomes:

  • Learn to navigate between the Waterfall (V) cycle and Agile methodologies to adapt to the pace of innovation.

  • Utilise software tools for monitoring and reporting.

  • Master competitive intelligence and technological monitoring to identify emerging trends.

  • Apply user-centred approaches to design products or services that meet real needs.

  • Understand how to protect innovations and manage legal aspects.

  • Learn to coordinate diverse profiles, including engineers, designers, and marketers.

  • Be able to “sell” a project internally to management or externally to investors.

  • Support employees in organisational transformations linked to new technologies.

  • Evaluate project profitability, manage an R&D budget, and identify funding sources.

  • Prepare a robust business plan for a new activity or start-up.

Duration

DURATION OF STUDIES:

  • 2 years for students holding a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification, and 1 year for students who have completed the first year of a Master’s programme.
  • Work-study programme available.

Prerequisites

ENTRY LEVEL(S)

Bachelor’s degree / Licence and Bac+4

Prerequisites: The Master’s degree in Project and Innovation Management at ESMAS is open to holders of a Bachelor’s degree / Licence or any other Level 6 qualification and, for entry into the second year of the Master’s programme, to candidates who have validated a Master 1 or have obtained a waiver from the certifying body.

Admission is based on the review of the application file and may include an interview.

Students entering the first year of the Master’s programme are required to validate all skills blocks

This programme does not offer any equivalences or transfer pathways.

Further Studies

This Master’s degree is professionally oriented and therefore leads directly to employment.

Admission Procedures and Deadlines

Access deadlines

  • Applications for the September 2026 intake are open from 1 March to 20 September 2026.
  • Applications for the deferred January 2027 intake remain open until 18 December.

Modalities

Access to our programmes may be initiated:

  • By the employer,
  • At the employee’s initiative, with their employer’s agreement,
  • By a student or their legal guardian
  • Work-study is available from the third year onwards

Upon completion of the application form, our institution undertakes to respond within 72 hours.

If the programme requires specific prerequisites, we will propose, regardless of the funding method you are considering, a knowledge assessment and/or a positioning interview (by telephone or videoconference) and/or a review of your application file.

1ST YEAR

The MPI programme in the 1st year, aimed at developing managerial skills, is structured as follows:

The MPI programme in the specialisation year is organised around two (2) axes:

AXIS 1: SPECIALISATION SUBJECTS

AXIS 2: CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Validation of competency blocks:

  • Block 1: Create and Develop a Digital Entrepreneurship Project with AI Assistance

  • Block 2: Design a Digital Project Following a UX Design Approach Adapting to AI

  • Block 3: Manage a Digital Project Using Agile Methodology, Draft the Functional Specification and Technical Requirements

  • Block 4: Develop an E-Marketing and Communication Strategy for a Digital Entrepreneurship Project with AI Assistance

  • Block 5: Conduct Studies and Prepare Reports in Business Intelligence and Corporate Strategy
