Master’s Degree in Commercial Management and Sports Sponsorship

The Master’s degree in Commercial Management and Sports Sponsorship (MCS) at ESMAS is a Level 7 qualification registered with the RNCP. This two-year programme trains experts capable of developing the commercial and partnership strategies of sports organisations, equipping them with advanced negotiation and sales techniques as well as a thorough understanding of the sports ecosystem.

This programme is perfectly suited to managers engaged in the sports industry, who seek creative, passionate, curious, and motivated collaborators.

The ESMAS Master MCS prepares students to be fully operational from their first professional experience. Courses, conferences, masterclasses, and business games are delivered by professionals who are experts in their fields.

Programme objectives

The Master’s degree in Commercial Management and Sports Sponsorship (MCS) at ESMAS is a State-recognised Level 7 qualification designed to achieve the following learning outcomes:

  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of the economic functioning of sport, from broadcasting rights to club revenue models, including the roles of various stakeholders (federations, agents, sponsors).

  • Develop an action plan to increase the revenue of a sports organisation, whether through ticket sales, subscriptions, or merchandising.

  • Manage sponsorships and partnerships by identifying potential sponsors, creating tailored partnership proposals, and evaluating contracts to maximise return on investment for all parties.

  • Develop communication and marketing skills.

Duration

DURATION OF STUDIES:

  • 2 years for students holding a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification, and 1 year for students who have completed the first year of a Master’s programme.
  • Work-study programme available.

Prerequisites

ENTRY LEVEL(S)

Bachelor’s degree / Licence and Bac+4

Prerequisites: The Master’s degree in Commercial Management and Sports Sponsorship at ESMAS is open to holders of a Bachelor’s degree / Licence or any other Level 6 qualification and, for entry into the second year of the Master’s programme, to candidates who have validated a Master 1 or have obtained a waiver from the certifying body.

Admission is based on the review of the application file and may include an interview.

Students entering the first year of the Master’s programme are required to validate all skills blocks

This programme does not offer any equivalences or transfer pathways.

Further Studies

This Master’s degree is professionally oriented and therefore leads directly to employment.

Admission Procedures and Deadlines

Access deadlines

  • Applications for the September 2025 intake are open from 1 March to 20 September 2025.
  • Applications for the deferred January 2026 intake remain open until 18 December.

Modalities

Access to our programmes may be initiated:

  • By the employer,
  • At the employee’s initiative, with their employer’s agreement,
  • By a student or their legal guardian
  • Work-study is available from the third year onwards

Upon completion of the application form, our institution undertakes to respond within 72 hours.

If the programme requires specific prerequisites, we will propose, regardless of the funding method you are considering, a knowledge assessment and/or a positioning interview (by telephone or videoconference) and/or a review of your application file.

The MCS programme in the 1st year, aimed at developing managerial skills, is structured as follows:

The MCS programme in the specialisation year is organised around two (2) axes:

AXIS 2: CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Block 2: Design a Digital Project Following a UX Design Approach Adapting to AI

  • Block 3: Manage a Digital Project Using Agile Methodology, Draft the Functional Specification and Technical Requirements

  • Block 4: Develop an E-Marketing and Communication Strategy for a Digital Entrepreneurship Project with AI Assistance

  • Block 5: Conduct Studies and Prepare Reports in Business Intelligence and Corporate Strategy
