Master’s Degree in International Sports Management

The Master’s degree in International Sports Management (MIS) at ESMAS is a Level 7 qualification registered with the RNCP. This two-year programme trains senior managers and executives capable of operating within a globalised sports environment.

This programme is perfectly suited to the needs of professionals engaged in the international sports industry, who seek creative, passionate, curious, and motivated collaborators.

The ESMAS Master MIS prepares students to be fully operational from their first professional experience. Courses, conferences, masterclasses, and business games are delivered by professionals who are experts in their fields.

Programme objectives

The Master’s degree in International Sports Management (MIS) at ESMAS is a State-recognised Level 7 qualification designed to achieve the following learning outcomes:

  • Acquire an in-depth understanding of the legal and institutional framework of the sports environment.

  • Master the key challenges of the global sports industry and understand the functioning of major international sports organisations.

  • Develop strategic management skills by making strategic decisions for a sports organisation.

  • Develop expertise in international marketing and sponsorship.

  • Strengthen communication and marketing skills to promote the sports industry on a global scale.

  • Design marketing campaigns targeting international audiences.

  • Manage teams within a sports association.

Duration

DURATION OF STUDIES:

  • 2 years for students holding a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification, and 1 year for students who have completed the first year of a Master’s programme.
  • Work-study programme available.

Prerequisites

ENTRY LEVEL(S)

Bachelor’s degree / Licence and Bac+4

Prerequisites: The Master’s degree in International Sports Management at ESMAS is open to holders of a Bachelor’s degree / Licence or any other Level 6 qualification and, for entry into the second year of the Master’s programme, to candidates who have validated a Master 1 or have obtained a waiver from the certifying body.

Admission is based on the review of the application file and may include an interview.

Students entering the first year of the Master’s programme are required to validate all skills blocks

This programme does not offer any equivalences or transfer pathways.

Further Studies

This Master’s degree is professionally oriented and therefore leads directly to employment.

Assessment Methods: Case studies and/or tests and/or essays and/or text analyses and/or multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and/or oral assessments and/or research projects / Continuous assessment / Work-study and competency evaluation (written + oral) / Thesis defence / Professional evaluation in the company

Admission Procedures and Deadlines

Access deadlines

  • Applications for the September 2025 intake are open from 1 March to 20 September 2025.
  • Applications for the deferred January 2026 intake remain open until 18 December.

Modalities

Access to our programmes may be initiated:

  • By the employer,
  • At the employee’s initiative, with their employer’s agreement,
  • By a student or their legal guardian
  • Work-study is available from the third year onwards

Upon completion of the application form, our institution undertakes to respond within 72 hours.

If the programme requires specific prerequisites, we will propose, regardless of the funding method you are considering, a knowledge assessment and/or a positioning interview (by telephone or videoconference) and/or a review of your application file.

1ST YEAR

The MIS programme in the 1st year, aimed at developing managerial skills, is structured as follows:

The MIS programme in the specialisation year is organised around two (2) axes:

  • Partnership and Public Relations Management

Semester 2:

  • International Sports Law

  • Commercial Operations Management

  • Preparation of the Professional Dissertation

AXIS 2: CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Validation of competency blocks:

  • Block 1: Create and Develop a Digital Entrepreneurship Project with AI Assistance

  • Block 2: Design a Digital Project Following a UX Design Approach Adapting to AI

  • Block 3: Manage a Digital Project Using Agile Methodology, Draft the Functional Specification and Technical Requirements

  • Block 4: Develop an E-Marketing and Communication Strategy for a Digital Entrepreneurship Project with AI Assistance

  • Block 5: Conduct Studies and Prepare Reports in Business Intelligence and Corporate Strategy
